A series of fortunate events led this adorable couple together. Both Ashlyn and Jake’s hope to find someone special led them to join the popular dating site, Match.com. It was here they were first introduced to each other however they never met in person. As they often say, fate has a mysterious way of bringing what is meant to be together, and this is exactly what happened to Ashlyn and Jake. Match.com gave them both a second chance at a conversation which ultimately led to them finally meeting face to face in person. The two of them instantly clicked, and after a handful of dates, Ashlyn decided to invite Jake on her beach trip. There was a twist though – her mom and godmother were also joining in on the trip! The four of them ended up having an amazing week making memories together! As Jake shared, “I happily accepted the ‘challenge’ to join them on the beach trip. Not only did we have a great time, but I managed to win over both of the important ladies in Ashlyn’s life, despite their assumption that they might get the better of me that week!”

When we asked Ashlyn and Jake when they knew marriage was the next chapter in their love story, Ashlyn shared, “For a while now, we’ve been living together and our lives are irreversibly intertwined. Jake helps manage the day-to-day minutia allowing me to spend more time working on long-term goals such as career goals and mental and physical health, while I help Jake take time to be more reflective about life. We don’t need the ‘stamp of approval’ of marriage but rather a commitment we want to make to each other and ourselves.”

In their free time, Ashlyn and Jake enjoy staying active by exercising, going on camps and hikes, and playing with their dog, Mazie. They also love to spend time renovating and decorating their home. Ashlyn and Jake also spend time going to bookstores and eating pizza.

Above everything else, Ashlyn and Jake value open communication, their family, and investing in their physical and emotional health.
