What Brought These Two Together
Our Love story from Kaila’s View:
Some may know how Nick and I met one another, however some may not. Therefore, here is how we met and our beautiful love story. Nick and I met one day at my job on 8/28/18. I was working as a Medical Assistant at a busy Urgent Care and Nick came in as a patient. Yes, I know I was a bad girl; however it was the best decision of my life and the best thing that happened to me at that job. Hah!
Now depending on who is telling this beginning of the story, things may change, Haha. I was working the front desk at the time Nick came in covering for our receptionist who went to lunch. I was helping check out a patient and he approached the counter to my left. I looked over and stated I would be with him in a moment sternly as I felt he should have been waiting behind the patient I was helping. Well, when I made eye contact, let’s just say foot in mouth, Kaila! I thought he was very handsome, even sick!
I continued to check him in and then ran off to the back where he thought I just disappeared. Meanwhile, I was claiming dibs on triaging him before my nurse did so. I remember my nurse saying “you sound so giddy.” Smiling from ear to ear I went and got him and brought him into the room and took his vitals and learned why he was there. Let’s just say, he did not want to tell me. I distinctly remember pointing at my scrubs and stating don’t worry this is kind of what I do for a living. Haha. We had great conversation. The doctor saw him and then I brought his paperwork to him and that’s when he asked for my phone number and I happily gave it to him.
We hit it off from the start, texting and talking on the phone, and planned our first date. Well, this girl got so nervous that I canceled. Then, when we rescheduled, I almost canceled from nerves again. My grandmother (Nancy Smith), was giggling at me about how nervous I was. I’ll never forget that. However, I made it to that date and many more after that. He is my soul mate, the love of my life, and partner for eternity through life and its obstacles. I wouldn’t trade him for anything in this world. Amen.
