When Kelsey moved away to Atlanta her maid of honor and best friend Lauren encouraged her to download the popular relationship app called Tinder so she could meet some new friends in her new home town. When she came across Sam’s profile she couldn’t help but “swipe right” which means that you are interested in meeting that person. Turn’s out that Sam had also “swiped right” on Kelsey’s profile.  They exchanged info and went on their first date. After their second date to Chateau Elan winery, the sparks started flying. They enjoyed the richness of their conversation and so they started spending a lot of time together. As fate would have it, both of their families happened to live in the DC area, and they are able to spend time with their families together rather than having to split holidays. Through the time they have been together they continue to fall more and more in love with each other. For them, they can (or at least Kelsey can) say it was love at first swipe.

When I asked them why they are getting married, Kelsey said “Well, who wouldn’t want to marry their best friend?! There is no greater step to take in a relationship than to make a commitment to each other to spend forever together and that is exactly why we want to take this next step. We have so many amazing memories from our time dating and we cannot wait to see those memories grow as husband and wife.” What a beautiful statement. 

If you run into Kelsey and Sam you will more than likely find them watching Love After Lockup, cooking up something, having a date night at their favorite restaurants (Sam is good at planning these), traveling, or working out.  They love to push each other and be the others biggest motivator. 

Above anything else Sam and Kelsey value friendship, communication, and trust. They believe that the best partner to spend your life with is not only someone who you love, but is also someone who is your best friend.
