What Brought These Two Together

Lauren and Tyler’s love story began with a swipe of fate on the dating app, Bumble! One of Lauren’s friends from nursing school encouraged her to give online dating a chance. Although at first she was hesitant, Lauren decided to give it a try and little did she know, that choice would be one of the very best decisions of her life! After matching with Tyler, the two of them spent a few days texting back and forth, sharing great conversation and getting to know one another. They arranged a date in-person and planed to meet near Everedy Square and Shab Row in downtown Frederick to walk around downtown and find a spot to eat lunch. Upon their first meeting face-to-face, sparks flew, and they ended up at Brewers Alley on the rooftop bar, ordered sausage and peppers pizza, and afterwards they walked along Caroll Creek. They were enjoying each other’s company and their conversations so much they didn’t want the date to end, so they decided to go see a movie that same night.

The very next day, Tyler wanted Lauren to meet his four-legged best friend, Lorain, who is a black pit bull mix. They met for their second date at Sugarloaf Mountain, hiking to the top and afterwards going to lunch in Poolesville, where Tyler grew up. From this point on, Lauren and Tyler became each other’s best friend and they wanted to experience everything together! It is now their tradition each year on their anniversary to share a sausage and peppers pizza from Brewers Alley and walk-through downtown Frederick. As Lauren said, “I thank God every day for Bumble, good pizza, and for His perfect timing.”

When we asked Lauren and Tyler when they knew marriage was the next step in their love story, Lauren shared, “I never understood the saying, ‘when you know, you know,’ but Tyler and I definitely knew instantly that something was different about us and our instant connection. When we started officially dating, Tyler and I would always talk about our future and what we both wanted, and marriage was always at the top of our list. In the summer of 2020, Tyler took me to go look at engagement rings. I was super excited because it was another big step in our relationship, but I never thought that we would get engaged that same year because I was still finishing nursing school. But, in November of 2020, Tyler got down on one knee and had the entire moment captured by Amanda Summers Photography. In the end, we decided to get married because we are each other’s best friend, and we couldn’t imagine sharing life with anyone else.”

In their free time, Lauren and Tyler love to spend time with one another and their families. They also enjoy the different activities that come with the changing of the seasons. Tyler is always planning their next adventure and arranges special things like going to the apple orchard, the pumpkin patch, drive through Seneca Creek State Park Christmas lights, and taking trips to his parents’ place at the beach. They have also made the commitment to go to church every Sunday, and after mass, Tyler makes them breakfast. This has become a beautiful time they both look forward to each week as they grow in their faith together. Lauren and Tyler also like to take their 5-year-old pit bull, Lorain, on car rides or to hike Sugarloaf Mountain. One of their favorite traditions is to revisit the place where their story first began, Brewers Alley in downtown Frederick. After sharing a pizza, Lauren and Tyler love to take a walk along Carroll Creek. They both agree it is the perfect way to celebrate their anniversary each year!

Above everything else, Lauren and Tyler value their faith in Jesus Christ our Savior, the importance of family, and their relationship and each other – choosing each other first always.
