Show Some Love For Lindsay & Mitchell
What Brought These Two Together
Lindsay and Mitchell’s love story began with a matchmaking attempt, however, there was a twist. Mixed with his charisma and a little encouragement from Lindsay, Mitchell finally got up the courage to ask out Lindsay’s… roommate! Backtracking to add in some details, this happened during Mitchell’s last year of undergrad when he had a TA that he thought was really cute and wanted to get to know. He successfully asked her out on a date by leaving a note in one of his lab reports. Mitchell and Lindsay’s roommate had a nice time on their first date, and after he graduated, they went on a few more dates, but eventually, the relationship fizzled out.
To take his mind off the recent break up, Mitchell decided to take time to enjoy single life and have some fun with friends while he was in town for the summer. That week Mitchell, Lindsay, and a bunch of friends went out and sung karoake at a local bar. This was the first time Lindsay and Mitchell hit it off and felt a spark between them! The next time Mitchell was in town, he reached out to Lindsay and they met for a few drinks together. Ironically, during this meeting, Lindsay and Mitchell were a third and fourth wheel to another budding romance. After keeping each other company for a few hours, time was flying and they realized just how easy the conversation was flowing between them! As this night ended, they both agreed to plan a more formal date – but this time, they left the rest of their friends at home!
When we asked these two when they knew marriage was the next chapter in their love story, Lindsay shared, “Getting married felt like a natural next step in our relationship. At the time of our wedding, we will have lived together for almost three years, and have no plans to stop being roommates any time soon. Moving in-together was a pretty seamless transition for us, with the hardest part being the number of stairs we had to climb to move all the furniture into our apartment. We work really well as a team, whether that be splitting up chores, running errands, or handling difficult situations. Getting married felt like the next step to recognize the dedication and commitment we already have to each other.”
In their free time, Lindsay and Mitchell enjoy visiting new places, and trying out different wineries. They both enjoy watching football and attending sports games together. You can also find them solving escape rooms, and hosting game nights for their friends. These two also share a love for pointing out cute puppies when they are out and about.
Above everything else, Lindsay and Mitchell value honesty, situational awareness, and teamwork. They both agree that communication is the key to a successful relationship and without trust (in each other and others) relationship foundations corrupt themselves. It is also just as important to know when to have fun and be goofy and when it is time to be serious. As the popular saying goes, “Teamwork makes the dream work!” Lindsay and Mitchell consider each other ‘partners in crime’ and have found in each other someone to lean on in both the good and the bad.
