The simple answer for how these two first met – work. Both Mikayla and Pierce were working at Dominos when they first crossed paths. While Mikayla was fairly new to the job, Pierce had been there for many years. The night before their grand opening at her new store location, her manager walked out, leaving Mikayla distraught with a staff full of new employees. That night, she left about 1 hour before Pierce came in and saved the day. The next morning when Mikayla came in to work her mutual friend and coworker came up to her and said, “I have to introduce you to someone. His name is Pierce and he is a really good guy and I think you are going to love him.” Little did Mikayla know that just about 3 years later, they would be an engaged couple! 

After that first introduction, Mikayla and Pierce worked together more often. One night she needed a ride home and he could tell she was uncomfortable with one of the other coworkers giving her a ride. So Pierce jumped in and offered, and quickly became her knight in shining armor! After that night, they grew closer and eventually he asked her out on a date before work. They went to see the new Disney/Pixar movie, Coco, and as they watched it together they both found themselves tearing up. As soon as they left the theater, Mikayla knew she wanted to date this special man. Later that evening after work, Pierce officially asked Mikayla if she would like to date, and she said yes!      

When we asked when Mikayla and Pierce knew marriage was the next chapter in their love story, Mikayla shared, “We decided to get married because we knew that no matter if it is through the great, memorable times or the times we are at our lowest we will always be there for each other with all the love, support, trust, and commitment, that we have grown to treasure over these past 4 years and many more to come.”

In their free time, Mikayla and Pierce love trying new experiences whether they are going on long back road drives or antiquing. They also enjoy playing board games and watching Disney movies.
