What Brought These Two Together

For Michelle & Tom, sparks flew at first sight and it has led to a flame that can’t be put out! This love story began while Michelle was working in Stafford County, VA as a teacher. Her teammate at work was married to a Fairfax County firefighter. Her firefighter husband knew a guy that they thought would be great for Michelle. These two took on the roles of matchmakers and arranged a first date for them to meet.

Michelle’s teammate and her husband went out with Tom and Michelle to Benny’s in Fredericksburg for a double date. The rest is history! They had a wonderful first date and then went out again soon after. Tom and Michelle feel so lucky to have been brought together by friends as they know they never would have met otherwise!

When we asked Tom and Michelle when they knew marriage was the next chapter of their love story, Michelle shared, “After five years together, we knew it was time to make our love legally official. We are best friends and can’t imagine our lives without one another.” They also included sweet notes about each other –

From Michelle: Tom is the most supportive partner I could ever ask for. I cannot wait to be his wife and continue our lives together.

From Tom: Michelle is a beautiful person inside and out. She cares about others and is incredibly thoughtful. It is time for her to become a Baldwin!

Together, Michelle and Tom enjoy traveling, going to the beach, and planning date night dinners. You can also find them watching true crime shows or documentaries, and spending time together with their families.

Above everything else, together as a couple they value humor, trustworthiness, and being family-focused.

The WEdding Venue

Washington DC War Memorial

is part of West Potomac Park and is located south of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool and north of Independence Avenue SW. It’s one of the most popular venues for small, intimate ceremonies and elopements, but there’s also space on the lawn for larger weddings as well. The location is perfect – the round, marble memorial is right on the National Mall, and is surrounded by beautiful trees. It’s located in between the Reflecting Pool and Independence Avenue, near the World War II Memorial, and just across the street from the Martin Luther King, Jr Memorial. It’s the perfect balance of being close to all the hustle and bustle of the more popular monuments, while being a bit off the beaten path for some more privacy during a wedding ceremony.
