We met at work, William was a armed security guard and I worked at the front desk. We built a friendship that blossomed into a loving relationship. William is originally from upstate New York and grew up with a large family. He has two brothers and one sister and countless cousins uncles an aunts. He served in the Marines and is a combat Veteran but your would never know unless you specifically asked him lol He’s very humble and doesn’t boast about his experiences or accomplishments. I am a first generation american and I come from a small family, I have 2 brothers and one sister. We didn’t grow up with cousins, uncles or aunts. My parents are immigrants that moved to Virginia and settled to give my siblings and I a better life. Although William and I have different cultural backgrounds we have the same core values including our faith, honesty, trust, respect, and loyalty and that is what truly brought us together. We like to joke that we both have old souls but really I think we are lol

We knew we wanted a future together but understood the importance of the right timing. We both were completing our academic goals an realigning our careers. Shortly during that time my family really needed my support where William was very supportive during that time where I could focus on my mom healing from cancer and also help raise my nieces as my brother was becoming a single father. Those moments truly showed us how we both show up for each other during challenging times and solidified the love we have for each other.
