    Sitting high on a hill with expansive views, Dulaney’s Overlook is a 170-acre working crop farm located a few minutes outside of Frederick Maryland. It is a perfect venue for whimsical and exquisite weddings.

    The Layout

    Dulaney’s Overlook is a new venue with having held weddings since the fall of 2016. This beautiful property sits high on a hill offering expansive views. It is a 170-acre working crop farm and just a short drive from Baltimore, Washington, and Virginia area.

    Dulaney’s Overlook has a colonial brick house that is rented for wedding ceremonies, bridal shower, engagement parties, and reception. It includes a beautiful bridal suite present upstairs with a massive man cave/game room in the basement. The couple can have the entire property for 12 hours on the day of the wedding or other ceremonies
    This alluring property has two ceremony sites to choose to say your I Do’s. the first site is the vast lawn right along with the splendid rose garden and the second site is located in the wooded area of the property which offers a laid-back and whimsical feel to your wedding. The property also has a restored barn with modern restrooms and individual catering space. The barn is quite spacious with a seating capacity of 200 guests and still have room for dancing and has a patio in front to enjoy the spectacular views from atop a hill. For cocktail hours, guests can gather in the downstairs area of the barn to enjoy refreshments before heading upstairs for the reception.

    This charming property has a beautiful rose garden and when in full bloom, it is the perfect spot to click pictures. The property is also surrounded by trees along the beautiful driveway.

    The Positives

    There are various reasons why Dulaney’s Overlook is a positive experience for couples. But most importantly, the venue has a large staff of wedding planners and coordinators to help you with all your wedding needs. They offer everything from coordinating to complete wedding planning services. They have an experienced team to handle all aspects of your wedding and can guide you through the process. However, there is no obligation to use their services as you are allowed to bring your vendors and caterers as well.

    The wedding couple is assigned a personal wedding coordinator when you book the venue until the day you are married. This is a plus point as planning a wedding is stressful, but with the wedding coordinator, the process becomes easy and you can enjoy your wedding to the fullest. The team works to make your wedding a memorable one.

    The venue is rented out by the day, and range in price from $8000 on a Saturday to $6000 on a Sunday. They also offer a wide variety of payment plans and military discounts.
    The property is quite spacious, and I just love this working crop farm as it makes the perfect backdrop for some great pictures and videos. Here are my positive feedbacks for Dulaney’s Overlook.

    Dulanys Overlook is beautiful! My husband and I were immediately in love with the barn there! My coordinator Beth was amazing and organized! She gave me great tips and kept a Facebook group page for her brides to follow to give them ideas and tips throughout the planning period. Mark was always responsive to any questions that I had during the pandemic about the wedding and the status of weddings. Overall, the team there is professional, responsive and puts couples at ease! I would highly recommend!

    The Negatives

    Located on a picturesque area atop a hill, Dulaney’s Overlook is an ideal venue for exquisite and whimsical weddings. Mark Lynch is the venue manager and goes the extra mile to help the guests. The entire staff works to make your wedding day a perfect one. I couldn’t find any negatives about this great venue in Frederick, MD.

    We loved our choice of wedding site. We adored Missi, our coordinator from Dulany's. We liked working with owner Mark. The space/venue is absolutely stunning and was just what we needed for our preparation, our pictures, and our guests. Our only struggle is that due to the reception hall being a barn and it being shockingly cold on our wedding date, we did not feel enough heaters were available for our guests. We would highly/strongly recommend using Dulany's if you are getting married in May-September but maybe not April like us or October.

    Do We Recommend It?

    Here at TLIC, there is a resounding yes. Dulaney’s Overlook is a spacious wedding venue with two beautiful locations for the ceremony and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a historic, whimsical, or elegant wedding.
