For Emily and Jesui, their relationship had a sweet beginning – put simply it was love at first cake pop! This adorable couple first met at Emily’s sister’s baby shower where Emily had baked delicious cake pops for the special celebration, and Jesui had eaten them. After their first interactions, they both felt sparks of romance. However, at this time they were both dating other people and could not follow their hearts. In a twist of fate though life had other plans for them, and brought them together again when they became co-workers. Emily and Jesui then began to build a strong friendship, discovering how many interests they shared including working out, trying new foods and drinks, and exploring different cultures. Then suddenly their friendship began to grow into love. 

One night they were both sharing glasses of wine and great conversation, feeling as though they were on “cloud wine” when they lost track of time. Soon Emily found herself feeling like she had overdone the wine a little. Unfortunately, she ended up getting sick in front of Jesui. Though some would have been embarrassed, Emily didn’t even have time for this thought to cross her mind. Immediately and without hesitation Jesui became her her knight in shining armor, acting with care, and helping her clean up. He even ended up tucking her into bed before leaving that night. Ever since that moment, Emily and Jesui knew they wanted to share their lives with each other, and the rest is history!

When we asked Emily and Jesui how they knew marriage was the next chapter for them, they both excitedly shared how they were ready to join hands in marriage and officially begin forever as a family. Though their relationship progressed the opposite of societal norms, they have written a beautiful love story that is uniquely their own. Together they have shared the joys of welcoming a child and purchasing their first home. Also, in their relationship they have overcome many challenges together including long distance, Jesui’s battle with Leukemia, and other general hard, emotional times in life. However, they have faced and conquered each one hand in hand with their love only growing stronger. As Emily shared, “For a lot of people, these kinds of challenges would have worn them down but for us, all of it has brought us closer and highlighted the love and respect we have for each other.” This beautiful couple is a wonderful example of how life often has its own beautiful plans for us and though we may not yet know the journey ahead, things always work out just as they should.

In their free time, Emily and Jesui enjoy doing DIY projects and watching paranormal TV shows. Together they love to create multiple small businesses based on their shared interests and pretend they are Gordon Ramsay while cooking food. They also enjoy traveling to new places and explore different experiences, cultures, foods, and drinks.
