Show Some Love For Jenna & Noah
What Brought These Two Together
What brought you two together?
We met during high school because we both were enrolled in band class and were members of the marching band. We actually had known each other’s sibling’s first. Hannah was my clarinet section leader and Kenny and Noah attended a math class together. At some point during my freshman year, I was introduced to Hannah’s little brother, Noah. Noah was super outgoing and seemed to be friends with everyone. Our personalities clicked immediately! We began to exchange a few laughs during water breaks and would chat after practice. We would even catch each other’s smiles from across the football field. This cycle continue for about 2 years before Noah asked me out on a date to a Chinese Restaurant (because he knew I loved Chinese food) for his birthday. He had cleaned up and waxed his dad’s convertible mustang the night before in hopes that I would ride with him, but I ended up driving myself…whoops! We were super awkward and nervous on our first date, but overall, I think it went well because it was the first of many dates in the weeks following. About 3 weeks later, on August 21, 2015, Noah took me on another date to dinner and ice cream. We then walked over to the James Rumsey Monument outlook in Shepherdstown, WV and watched the sunset. It was there that Noah asked me to be his girlfriend. Almost 7 years later, on March 13, 2022, we returned to that same location where Noah would ask me to be his wife.
Why did you decide to get married?
Our commitment to each other began well before our engagement. We’ve been together for 8 years and home has been wherever the other person is. We decided to get married because we were ready for the next stage of our lives and to celebrate our commitment alongside our family and friends. We’re excited to continue to embark on this journey together.
What are your top 5 things to do together:
Our world revolves around our dog, Willow. When we aren’t working, we are taking Willow on walks or to the pet store for a bath. We also love to be outdoors. If we can swing it, we try to go skiing at least once every winter. In the summer time, we enjoy taking our kayaks out as much as possible. We recently took a plane trip to New Hampshire to visit family which sparked a desire to do a lot more travel. We would love to fly out west soon! Sometimes our work weeks get really busy and sometimes we even work opposite shifts. For that reason, we like to find a little time throughout the week to go out to a new restaurant or one of our old favorites and have a nice meal together.
What are 3 values that you two share?
One of our main values that we share is the importance of spending time with family. Our families mean the world to us and we are so blessed to have had their love and support throughout this entire journey together. Another value that we share is being compassionate towards ourselves and others. As nurses, we try to practice this in our field of work, but this also extends into our daily lives. We both get fulfillment out of trying to find ways to brighten someone else’s day. A third value that we share is growth. It is important to us to use experiences, positive or negative, in order to move forward together and become even better people than the ones we were the day before.
