Landis and Shannon’s love story began like a scene out of a movie.  They both were playing on the lacrosse teams at Christopher Newport University. During spring break, there was a party for the men and women lacrosse teams. It was at this event where Landis and Shannon first spotted each other on the dance floor! As Landis shared, “For me, it was love at first sight!” The two of them spent the night dancing away, and instantly felt they had found someone special. 

Things were serious from the beginning. They spent the first two years long-distance and found the more time they spent getting to know each other, the stronger their relationship and feelings grew. They were so excited when the time finally came for the miles in between to disappear and they were able to move in together. 

To celebrate their 5-year anniversary, Landis planned a glamping trip in a Geodesic dome. This was significant to them as a couple as their first official date had been in Tennessee. It ended up being the perfect setting for the next milestone moment in their relationship. It was on this trip, they day before their anniversary, that Landis surprised Shannon and proposed to her by a waterfall in Tennessee!

When we asked when they knew marriage was the next chapter in their love story, Shannon shared, “We knew that we were each other’s champions. We are definitely life partners that push each other to be the best versions of ourselves, while also embracing each other’s dreams and passions.”

In their free time, Landis and Shannon love to go hiking and camping, try new coffee shops and restaurants, and shopping together at antique, home and garden stores. They also enjoy cooking together and playing with their dog, Sawyer.

Above everything else, Landis and Shannon value being honest (even when it can be challenging), being present in the moment, and being the last ones out on the dance floor.
