What Brought These Two Together

It was a cold afternoon on December 27, 2018, when Jake messaged Steph asking if she would like to grab a drink. Steph pondered on accepting Jakes’s invite as she was planning to leave for NYC the following day. Ironically, they lived a few streets apart in Arlington, but Steph insisted on meeting at a cocktail bar in DC. Steph decided that committing to one final date for the year could do no harm, and if it did not work out, she would enjoy NYC for new years eve with her girlfriends. While Steph was en route to NYC, Jake texted her that he had a great time and would like to get together again when she returned.

Well, we can safely say that date was the best last first date both Steph and Jake went on!

A few months into dating, Steph insisted on bringing Jake to her family’s passover dinner. Steph’s grandmother had just recovered from a broken hip, and her first words to Jake were “MOVE!,” as she wanted to show him she could walk towards him, to introduce herself. While Steph wasn’t sure if Jake would stick around after that kind of family introduction, he invited her to join his family’s Passover dinner the next evening. (PHEW!!)
Steph and Jake share many of the same family values, life goals, and tastes in food!
When we asked Steph and Jake how they knew marriage was the next step in their relationship Stephanie shared, “It’s not easy finding someone who you can laugh 24/7 with, that can finish your sentences, but most importantly, being totally comfortable/at peace/weird with. I cannot imagine waking up to anyone else, or sitting in the pure bliss of silence with anyone else!!!”

Together they enjoy trying new restaurants, making charcuterie boards & cocktails, and traveling…to Mexico! They also love enjoying the mountains and ocean, and working out together / maintaining healthy(ish) lifestyle at home while also treating themselves to McDonalds mcflurries!
Above everything else, Steph and Jake value honesty, good morals, and family!
