Katharine and Jim first crossed paths at Villanova University in the summer of 2012 during orientation for their job at Tech Zone. Jim arrived early, showcasing his punctual nature, while Katharine made a memorable entrance just as orientation began, setting the tone for their dynamic. Their friendship blossomed as Katharine guided Jim through his new role, and soon they were spending time together outside of work. After a month of playful interactions, Jim mustered the courage to ask Katharine out, beginning a journey that would span over ten years. Their college years were rich with shared experiences—from navigating challenging coursework to surviving group projects together. Upon graduating in 2014, they embraced the challenges of a long-distance relationship. Jim joined the Navy’s submarine force, and Katharine pursued optometry at Salus University. Despite the miles between them, their commitment never wavered. They made it a priority to stay connected, cherishing every opportunity to be together. Eventually, both found their way to the Washington D.C. area. Katharine began her career with Johns Hopkins’ Wilmer Eye Institute, and Jim returned to his engineering roots at the Center for Naval Analysis. Being reunited in the same city was a dream come true. In February 2022, Jim proposed to Katharine, marking a new chapter in their enduring love story. They eagerly anticipate building a future filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.
