Landis and Shannon’s love story began like a scene out of a movie. During a spring break party for the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams at Christopher Newport University, they first spotted each other on the dance floor. For Landis, it was love at first sight. They spent the night dancing and instantly felt a special connection. Their relationship grew serious quickly, even as they navigated two years of long-distance. The more they got to know each other, the stronger their bond became. When they finally moved in together, it marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with shared adventures. To celebrate their five-year anniversary, Landis planned a glamping trip in a geodesic dome in Tennessee, harking back to their first official date. It was there, by a waterfall, that he proposed to Shannon, creating a perfect milestone in their journey. Together, they love hiking, camping, trying new coffee shops and restaurants, and shopping at antique, home, and garden stores. Cooking together and playing with their dog, Sawyer, are among their favorite pastimes. Above all, they value honesty (even when it’s challenging), being present in the moment, and staying on the dance floor until the very end.
