Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion weddings
Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion is a historic estate in Chevy Chase, Maryland, on a 40-acre nature sanctuary. The 1927 mansion was designed by John Russell Pope, and the grounds have meadows, mature trees, native gardens and forest.
A day here can start in the two large staging rooms. Ceremonies can be in Hemlock Grove, on the south and upper lawns, in the tent or in the Great Hall. Cocktail hour can use the lawns and portico, then dinner goes in the tent and dancing moves to the Great Hall.

What guest count works at Woodend?
April through November, Woodend can host up to 150 people with the tent in place. In winter, the mansion can hold a ceremony and reception for up to 50, or a reception for up to 120.
How does Woodend handle rain?
The tent can hold the ceremony. A covered walkway connects the mansion and tent. While guests have cocktail hour in the mansion, caterers can reset the tent for dinner.
Is there space to get ready at Woodend?
Woodend has two large staging rooms for the two of you and your wedding parties.
